Under Section 12 (2) and (3) of the National Insurance and Social Security Act appointed government employees are exempt from paying such contributions and therefore have no right to these benefits under the Scheme. Contributions paid by appointed government employees are in respect of all benefits with the exception of sickness and unemployment.
