Job Description:
The Spokesperson must be able to convey the message of the organisation in an engaging and informative way that connects with the audience. They must also be knowledgeable about emerging trends in technology, and also be tech savvy with a variety of electronic devices. The ability to respond to inquiries about several technological topics during interviews or other appearances is integral to the role.
Spokesperson Responsibilities:
- Promoting the organisation’s mission and values by speaking publicly about organisational initiatives and successes.
- Representing the organisation at community events, trade shows, conventions, or other public gatherings as appropriate.
- Coordinating social media campaigns and digital marketing efforts to promote the organisation’s message.
- Managing relationships with the media by pitching stories, arranging interviews, and articulately answering questions from reporters.
- Be compassionate, empathetic, and trustworthy.
- Know your organisation’s policies about the release of information.
Spokesperson Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a spokesperson or in the communication field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to ‘read a room’ and engage accordingly.
- Leadership skills.
- Confident and well-researched decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Above average networking skills with a desire to meet and engage with new people.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise projects.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- A consistently professional attitude and level of performance.
- An outgoing, friendly personality, while maintaining healthy professional boundaries.
