Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Investments is mainly responsible for assisting with the management of the National Insurance and Social Security Service’s (NISSS) investments portfolio including analysing investment opportunities and making recommendations to the Investments Committee.
Key duties and Responsibilities
- Analyses investment proposals and making recommendations to the Chief Investment Officer
- Conducts periodic reviews (credit analysis, adherence to policies and procedures, completion and maintenance of security), of the performance of the Board’s investment portfolio, reporting findings and recommending any corrective action to management
- Evaluates Real Estate projects under consideration by the NISSS Board, liaising with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Architects and other project resources to ensure the successful implementation of projects
- Assists with the collection of funds arising from the investments portfolio and with the delivery of funds for purchase of new investments on a timely basis
- Attends meetings on behalf of the NISSS Board when required
- Conducting periodic reviews of the performance of institutions in which the NISSS holds investments
- Prepares risk profiles for debt portfolios
- Prepares Board Papers as required
- Assists in preparing operating and investment budgets
- Assesses the quality, relevance and validity of information received and utilizing the information to perform detailed financial, economic and statistical analyses
- Summarises data describing trends in investment risk and economic influences related to investments
- Performs any other job-related duties that may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
- A postgraduate qualification in Finance, Economics or Investments and not less than five years’ relevant experience or;
- A recognized professional accounting designation and not less than five years’ relevant experience
- In each case, training and experience in investment analysis and portfolio management are required
