Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Heavy Duty Vehicle Delivery Driver to join our team. As a delivery driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials using large commercial vehicles, ensuring timely and safe deliveries to designated locations. The ideal candidate must possess a valid heavy-duty vehicle license, demonstrate excellent driving skills, and have a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Responsibilities:

1. Safely operate and drive heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks or tractor-trailers, to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
2. Plan efficient delivery routes considering traffic conditions, delivery schedules, and vehicle capacity to ensure timely deliveries.
3. Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transportation, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
4. Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after each trip to ensure it is in proper working condition. Report any mechanical issues or defects to the appropriate personnel.
5. Complete delivery forms, logbooks, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain records of deliveries, incidents, and any relevant information.
6. Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure safe and responsible driving. Follow safety protocols for loading, unloading, and securing cargo.
7. Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods in a professional and courteous manner. Interact with customers or recipients at delivery locations, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
8. Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to provide delivery updates, report any issues or delays, and coordinate logistical details.
9. Respond appropriately to emergencies or accidents that occur during transportation, following established procedures for reporting incidents and ensuring the safety of oneself and others involved.
10. Keep abreast of relevant transportation regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in delivery operations.

Qualifications:

1. Valid heavy-duty vehicle license with a clean driving record.
2. Proven experience as a heavy-duty vehicle delivery driver or similar role.
3. Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
4. Ability to operate and maneuver large commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
5. Strong physical stamina and ability to handle heavy or bulky cargo.
6. Solid understanding of loading, unloading, and cargo-securing techniques.
7. Familiarity with routes and geography within the designated delivery area.
8. Good communication and customer service skills.
9. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
10. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
